Durga

Durga ~ Warrior Goddess ~ Protection Goddess

Durga is a goddess known to the people of India, and those who practice Hinduism as a goddess of protection and war. She is a fierce goddess whom enemies fear and is depicted as having 8 or 10 arms. The animals that are associated with her are lions or tigers.

Durga is a warrior goddess who was created with the intent to protect against evil spirits or forces, and fight against anyone or anything who threatens peace. If there were any forces who threatened Dharma (a behavior concept that symbolizes virtues and morals in Hindu spiritual beliefs) Durga would be the goddess to call upon for help and defense. There was an evil demon named Mahishsura who was undefeated until the trinity of Brahmu, Vishnu and Shiva created the soul of Durga.
